Ford Park needs your support
As a charity, we don’t receive any government funding. Instead, we rely on membership subscriptions, donations, sales at the café & bistro and volunteers to look after the park we care for.
Members help us protect and care for 8 acres of green space in the urban heart of Ulverston. So the woods we went to as children, where we kicked piles of fallen leaves and hunted for conkers, and the fields where we played rounders can still be enjoyed for generations to come.
We’ve been caring for this green space since 2000 and, with your support, we’ll continue to look after it for many more.
It’s £2 a month for an individual membership. That’s about the same as a cup of coffee, a Sunday newspaper or quarter of a cinema ticket.
Think of it as a donation with perks. So you’ll be directly contributing to the protection of the fields, playground, woodland, orchard, kitchen garden and all the wildlife that calls it home. And in return you’ll receive discounts at the café and for events, which you can enjoy knowing you are helping secure the future of this special place.
It’s your Ford Park.

So much more than a park…..
Enriching the lives of our young people. School projects, work experience, National Citizenship Service and apprentice programmes all take place at the park providing real hands-on projects and experiences.
A home for our clubs, societies and celebrations. From baby sensory classes to knitting, yoga, pilates and everything in between; baby naming ceremonies, birthdays and weddings, Ford Park provides a welcoming venue and a place to be.
Supporting our community festivals. Ford Park provides the only large green space in the town, used by the Lantern Parade and Carnival, for other festival activities and sporting events such as the Hoad Marathon.
Part of the community. Outreach, healthy eating, workshops for hospice residents, gardening skills, horticultural consultancy and conservation volunteering. Our Inclusive Volunteer Programme supports vulnerable and excluded people from the Furness area by providing a programme of training and volunteering opportunities. Our reach is far wider than the boundaries of the park.
