Ford park is owned by a local community group supported by volunteers who have formed a charitable trust to rescue  this last large open space in Ulverston

Ford House is a Grade II listed building which we intend to restore back to its original splendour.

FORD PARK IS A PERMISSIVE PARK.

What does this mean?

The trustees allow  public  access
to all areas of the park for the enjoyment of the whole community,  but reserve the right to exclude any persons who contravene the conditions of use displayed on the notice boards at the entrances to the park.

On Friday morning at 10.30am we started to plant 10,000 daffodil and crocus bulbs. 47 friends of Ford Park came along to help, some stayed all day, some came for just an hour, but at 4.15pm we had completed the task. A big thank you to all who took part. Now we cant wait till next spring to see the fruits of our labours.

Ruskin lace makers visit us each Wednesday morning. They welcome newcomers to join them to enjoy learning this traditional craft. Call our centre manager if you would like to join them.

Some pictures showing details of the newly painted soffit and guttering which was carried out by Wards of Barrow.

The picture to the right shows the repaired soffit which had rotted away above the back door.

All the guttering has been painted with a fibreglass paint to seal any leaks
We have also removed all the downspouts which were installed when Ford house was used as a school. They no longer served any purpose and the building looks much better now they have gone.
