The Ford Park team is certainly backing the latest initiative to tidy up the county – and everyone is invited to join in too.
On Friday July 6, as part of the Great Cumbrian Litter Pick, a group from Ford Park Community Group will be carrying out a litter pick in the park, the area around Hoad Hill and along the nearby A590 pavement.
Running between 9-10am, all ages are welcome to join the Ford Park Litter Pick (and dogs!) – with tea/coffee and cakes available on the return to Ford Park.
Suzanne Pender, Chair of Ford Park Trustees, said: “Ford Park Community Group is delighted to join in the Great Cumbrian Litter Pick. It fits perfectly with our core values as we try to promote a cleaner and greener environment, including supporting the plastic-free campaign and raising awareness about the dangers of litter.
“As a Green Flag status park, which we hope to achieve again this year, we are committed to the environment and the community in Ulverston – so please do come along and join us at 9am on Friday 6 July.”
To join in the Ford Park Litter Pick, please email firstname.lastname@example.org. All equipment needed to take part in the litter pick will be provided – simply just turn up!
The Friends of the Lake District initiative has been launched to bring Cumbrian communities together to clean up the county on July 6. So far, many groups have registered to do a litter pick in their area, including villages, groups, businesses and individual residents.
