Ford Park has submitted a planning application to open up the front gate to the park, by replacing the current two wall sections with gates.
On the right hand side of the front entrance, as you approach the park, we hope to include a fully accessible, dedicated pedestrian entrance. This will enable people to enter and exit the park much more safely – by entering directly from the existing pavement outside the park and without competing with vehicles.
By submitting this application, we not only want to make the front entrance much safer for all users of the park on a daily basis, but also to allow safe access to the park for a range of community events.
If successful, this would allow the Ulverston Lantern Festival procession to end in Ford Park and enjoy its finale on the field (as has been tradition)
Please support our application and help to make your Ford Park safer and more accessible for the community.
