When it comes to learning new skills, sharing your knowledge and meeting new people, volunteering is fantastic – so why not come and discover more about volunteering at Ford Park at our Volunteer Open Day Event.
Taking place on Tuesday 4 June – as part of National Volunteers’ Week (Jun 1-7) – the Open Day is a fantastic opportunity to meet the team, enjoy demonstrations, take a tour, have a go and find out more about how you can get involved with volunteering at Ford Park.
Catherine Elliott, Volunteer Team Leader at Ford Park, said: “We are really excited to host a Volunteer Open Day event as it’s a great chance for people to come and see what we do here, whilst getting a taste of the range of activities our volunteers are involved with.
“From gardening, park maintenance, woodcraft and tool maintenance, to helping with events, crafts and much more, there are so many opportunities for people to enjoy and everyone in the community can get involved here.
“I would encourage anyone who’s interested to come along – whatever your experience, interests or age, we have something for everyone.”
Catherine added: “As a charity-run park, volunteers really are the backbone of Ford Park and we couldn’t look after this amazing place without them. So, we are hoping lots of people will come along to the Open Day and share the skills they can offer.
“Whether it’s yourself with some free time to spare, or perhaps a friend or relative, do come down and join us. It’s a wonderful environment to volunteer in, a beautiful green space – and most importantly, we are a very friendly bunch.”
Everyone is invited to join one of two sessions during the Volunteer Open Day – 10am or 2pm. Booking is essential – please call Cath Elliott on 01229 588164 or email email@example.com to reserve your place.
Volunteers’ Week (June 1-7) is an annual event and celebrates the fantastic contribution that millions of volunteers make across the UK. The week plays a huge part in raising the profile of the millions of volunteers who regularly contribute to society, while inspiring others to get involved too.
