Ford Park is open to the public at all times… so come along and enjoy the green, open space!
With open fields, woodland, trails, wildflower meadow and an orchard surrounding Grade Two listed buildings, there’s nowhere like Ford Park in Ulverston.
Our gardening team, with the help of dedicated volunteers, care for the park all-year-round, resulting in seasonal plant spectacles – whether it be the bright dahlias in the summer sunshine in the Walled Garden, or the golden-hues in the autumnal haze, the park and gardens are a treat for the eye.
Not forgetting the wildlife – Ford Park is proud to call itself home to a variety of wildlife, some of which you will be able to spot as you stroll around the paths.
More recently, we have also created a British native tree arboretum – believed to be the only one dedicated to native tree species in the UK – and a community orchard, which are both fantastic assets to the park.
We have also been working with Candide (a gardening app) to record our very own audio tours of our Walled Garden and our Arboretum. Simply download the app before you arrive to listen to Valerie Madden, our Gardener, guide you around the grounds, unearthing the rich history of Ford Park and our visions for the future.
