Back in March we asked our wonderful Facebook community to support our application to Stiga for some much-needed equipment to help our team and wonderful volunteers care for and maintain our charity park.
Stiga is one of the largest manufacturers of lawnmowers and garden machinery in Europe and to celebrate 90 years in business they are supporting 90 community organisations by providing free equipment.
We completed the first step, which was the application process and then our fabulous Facebook followers did the rest.
We told Stiga all about our community park and the charity that manage it, but it was the support of you all, and the wonderful comments and shares online that helped them make their decision.
Thank you all for the 326 likes, 134 comments and 259 shares on our #WeCareYouCare post asking for your help us because Stiga saw the community support and have now donated some amazing equipment to Ford Park.
Last week, Adam from Adam Jackson Ltd in Millom; a Fencing Contractor and Suppliers of Quads and Garden Machinery, including Stiga products – delivered the equipment Stiga donated to the Park.
Toby, Moray and Hazel and our wonderful volunteers are thrilled to have received a ride on lawn mower, a battery push mower, a long arm multi tool and electric secateurs.
This equipment will not only save us money on mowing but will also help volunteers and staff carry out task more effectively with the right tools for the job.
A huge thank you to everyone who helped with the success of this application, and to Stiga for their kind donation, and a very happy 90th birthday from all at Ford Park.
