School Visits at Ford Park
At Ford Park, our school visits are designed to spark curiosity and inspire children to explore the environment around them. We offer enriching, hands-on experiences that help pupils connect with nature, discover where their food comes from and develop eco-friendly habits that last a lifetime.

Our experienced team, Gardener Hazel, and Volunteer Co-ordinator Moray, have developed a diverse range of activities suitable for all age groups, from Reception through to Year 6. Each session can be tailored to meet your class’s specific interests or learning needs, ensuring a memorable and meaningful visit for every child.
Activities may include guided nature walks, interactive gardening sessions, discovering wildlife, creative environmental crafts and seasonal projects that highlight the importance of caring for our environment. We also offer dedicated sessions on food growing, composting and the life cycles of plants and insects.
All visits are led by our friendly, knowledgeable staff, with teachers present throughout to ensure safeguarding and support.
We strive to make each visit inclusive, engaging and accessible so every child can participate fully, regardless of background or ability.

This year, we have been fortunate to receive funding from The Jeffrey Bond Memorial Fund and the Kirkby Moor Wind Farm Community Fund, with the support of Cumbria Community Foundation, to enable us to continue working with local schools. A huge thank you to them all for supporting school visits to help us educate children in a fun and interactive way.
