The 12 Days of Christmas in Ford Park

On our social media platforms we 'tweaked' the 12 Days of Christmas and made it relevant to Ford Park. It was great fun, but we know not everyone is on social media, so we thought we would add the 12th day here and hope you enjoy....

On the twelfth day of Christmas my true love gave to me 12 people gardening,

11 children playing,

10 dogs a chasing,

9 reindeer hiding,

8 events for planning,

7 cars a parking,

six trustees governing,

five mince pies,

4 runners running,

3 yoga classes,

2 naughty elves

and a robin in a quince tree.

If you’re in the park on Tuesdays and Thursdays you’ll probably see a small army of people in green t-shirts and Ford Park jackets gardening, clearing paths, turning compost, and emptying bins – these are our amazing volunteers.

Volunteers are the very heart of Ford Park. As a small charity, we rely on grants, fundraising and donations from our wonderful community to pay for the upkeep of the park. Without the dedication of our volunteers who show up every week, no matter what the weather, we really wouldn’t have the beautiful free community green space we have today.

So, as we wrap up our 12 days of Christmas, we want to thank all of our volunteers, past and present, for doing whatever needs doing and making Ford Park an amazing place for our community to enjoy.

Thank you.

And if you’d like to thank them too, then why not make a donation towards our volunteer programme and help pay for tools, PPE, and the tea, coffee and cake that keep our volunteers going through the day…
