Ford Park has done it again! We’ve been awarded the Green Flag Award for 2026, officially recognising our charity-run community green space as one of the very best parks in the country.
This year also marks 30 years of the Green Flag Award, and we’re proud to be one of a record-breaking 2,391 sites across the UK to achieve the standard.
For us, this award is a real moment of pride, and a reminder that Ford Park’s day-to-day care is only possible because of community support. As a local charity, we rely on donations, memberships, fundraising events and volunteers to help keep the park safe, welcoming and well cared for, for everyone who uses it.
“On behalf of the Ford Park team, I’m delighted that our fantastic park has been recognised again for our continued efforts to keep Ford Park rich with biodiversity and a beautiful green space for our community. All of this work is made possible by both the staff and trustees of the charity but wouldn’t be achievable without our wonderful team of volunteers who undertake so much of the maintenance of Ford Park for the benefit of our town and so it’s those volunteers who have really earned this award.” Sam Ronson, Park Director.
If you love having Ford Park on your doorstep, please consider supporting the charity - whether that’s becoming a member, making a donation, paying for parking, buying plants, coming along to an event, or giving a bit of time as a volunteer. Every little helps and we really can't do this wthout you.
