A big thank you to Simone and her team of volunteers from Barntwood

A few weeks ago, Simone and a team of volunteers came along to Ford Park to help us scythe our wildflower no-mow area — and while they were here, they also shared their knowledge and skills with some of our own volunteers.
It was a brilliant opportunity to learn something completely new, and our volunteers really enjoyed getting stuck in and having a go at scything for themselves.
And it didn't stop there…
Last week, our volunteers have taken a little trip out to Brantwood to return the favour and lend a hand with a few jobs there.
We love seeing our volunteers learning new skills, meeting other people who care about our green spaces and getting involved in the wider community. That's what volunteering is all about.
So, thank you Simone and everyone who came along to Ford Park and shared your time and knowledge with us — and a big thank you to our own volunteers for getting stuck in and giving it a go!
Who knew scything could lead us on a such a lovely journey.
Thank you to Simone and the volunteers from Brantwood for being part of the Ford Park community.
