Small Charity Week - Small Charities. Big Impact.

Small Charity Week (22–29 June) has the theme 'Small Charities. Big Impact' and we think that sums up Ford Park in one sentence.

Because Ford Park isn’t just somewhere to walk the dog or let the kids loose on the playground (although it’s brilliant for that). It’s the place the whole community benefits from.

It’s the bench you sit on when you need ten minutes of peace, the woodland trail where you spot something different each time, the garden where you wander and enjoy the flowers, the place where you bump into someone you know and end up chatting for ages. For lots of people, it’s the green space where they can just breathe, time for wellbeing and reconnect with nature.

We have the most amazing volunteers who help care for the park and gardens.

They give so much to the park and our community, but they also get so much back: they enjoy fresh air, keeping active, learning new skills, feeling useful, feeling part of something, friendship… and a lot of tea and cake too.

Small charities like ours also ripple out into the local economy. When we run events, people come into town. When groups hire rooms and fields, it supports local activity. When we buy supplies and bring in local traders, it all stays rooted here.

So, if Ford Park has been part of your week, even in a small way, thank you. And if you’re able to support us in any way - a donation, a share, telling someone we’re charity-run - it genuinely helps. Small charity. Big impact.
