It’s started! Our #ChristmasChallenge21 has officially begun today! We now have 7 days to collect as many online donations as we can, raising money to help maintain and manage this fantastic green space for everyone to enjoy, and also support our Socially Inclusive Volunteering programme, which is vital to so many in our community. Here at Ford Park, we rely on our wonderful volunteers who give their time to help us maintain this community green space at the heart of Ulverston – we simply could not do it without them! We are lucky to have a great volunteering team – made up of a range of people from all backgrounds, including adults with additional needs, vulnerable adults and the socially isolated – who carry out tasks in all weathers and who genuinely enjoy being here at the park. But did you know, there’s more to our Socially Inclusive Volunteering Programme than caring for the park – it really makes a difference to people’s lives in our community (take a look at this video here) Volunteering opportunities for adults with additional needs are very limited – so if you can, please help support our Volunteering Programme by donating to our Big Give Christmas Challenge today! Every donation made from today until midday on Tuesday 7 December will be DOUBLED! Thanks to our generous Big Give champions – The Reed Foundation – every £1 donated will be matched and together, we have the opportunity to raise over £4,000 to support our work. Just think – you can turn your £5 donation into £10, your £10 into £20 or your £100 into £200! One donation, twice the impact! Have a look at how the Christmas Challenge works with this video Not forgetting, as today is #GivingTuesday, it’s the perfect time to show your support and make a donation today by clicking here. Thank you! ** To all those who already made a pledge to our Christmas Challenge during the summer, thank you! Your support really is appreciated. As kind as it would be, please don’t make a donation too, otherwise your original pledge will fall out of our match funding pot **
