Join the Apple Day Bake Off at Ford Park!
Apple day is one of our favourite community events of the year where we come together to celebrate all things apple, with traditional games and activities.
Our Apple Day Bake Off is a big part of this event, and we’d love you to be part of it this year on Saturday 3rd October.
Whether you’re a confident baker who has a signature recipe, or you’re more of a ‘throw it all together and see what happens’ kind of person who just fancies making something apple-y for the fun of it, we’d love you to take part.
What can you enter?
Anything with apple as a main ingredient…
Cakes, pies, tarts and crumbles
Muffins, traybakes and biscuits
Preserves, jams, chutneys and appley jars of goodness
If it celebrates apples, it then we’d love to try it.
Our judges have the best job of the day sampling every entry and choosing their favourites.
The winner will take home the coveted title of Star Baker 2026, plus a special wooden spoon and apron to mark the occasion.
Entering is simple:
Bake, or preserve, your apple-inspired creation
Bring it along to Ford Park on Saturday 3rd October from 11am
Pop it into the Bake Off tent (gazebo in the garden haha) and enjoy the rest of Apple Day.
Judging takes place at 2pm
This is a friendly, community-spirited competition, open to all ages and abilities. It’s about joining in, meeting other local bakers, and having a bit of fun as part of the day.
Make a day of it
Apple Day is packed with things to see and do, so bring the family and make a proper afternoon of it. As well as the Bake Off, there’ll be:
Apple pressing
A raffle
Traditional games
Badge making and crafts
Children’s crafts
Our Makers Market
And The Very Hungry Caterpillar will be making his way along the pathway with your help…
So, dust off your favourite recipes, and have a little play in the kitchen. We can’t wait to see what you bring and even more, we can’t wait to taste it
See you on Apple Day, Saturday 3rd October.
