Will you be our next Star Baker? Join the Apple Day Bake Off at Ford Park!

There’s nothing quite like the smell of freshly baked apple cake or the taste of homemade chutney to capture the spirit of autumn, and at Ford Park, our annual Apple Day Bake Off is fast becoming a favourite tradition!

Each year, we invite bakers of all ages and abilities to bring along their best apple-inspired creations - cakes, pies, tarts, preserves, chutneys and more. Whether you’re a seasoned baker or just love getting creative in the kitchen, we’d love you to come along and join in the fun.

Our judges (who have the best job of the day!) sample every delicious entry, looking for that perfect balance of flavour, creativity, and apple magic.

The coveted title of Star Baker 2025is up for grabs, along with a special wooden spoon and apron to celebrate your baking triumph!

How to Enter:

• Simply bring your apple bakes, preserves, or chutneys along to Ford Park on Apple Day.

• All ages and experience levels are welcome, whether it’s your signature apple pie or a new recipe you’re trying out for the first time.

• Entries are judged on taste, presentation, and that special apple twist!

  
  

This is a friendly, community-spirited competition, so come along, meet fellow bakers, and be part of our wonderful Apple Day event.

There's lots of things to see and do. We have apple pressing, a raffle and traditional games, badge making and crafts, children's crafts, Marker's Market and the Very Hungery Caterpillar will be making his way along the pathway...

So, start gathering those apples and dust off your favourite recipes because we can’t wait to see (and taste!) what you create.
