Ford Park Woodland Animal Trail

Updated: Feb 19

On Tuesday 13th February we officially launch our Woodland Animal Trail at Ford Park.

Barbara Bundy, one of our longstanding volunteers created this wonderful trail to help children learn about the woodland animals that live in parks and woodlands and help them identify their prints and habitats.

There is so much wildlife all around us, but we rarely see it, so the trail will educate children on what to look for when out and about.

Barbara designed the trail and has worked closely with Moray, our Volunteer Team Leader and volunteer Niall, to make the trail signs and with Graphix Signs in Barrow who made the large signs that you’ll find at the start and end of the trail.

We officially launched the trail during half term on Tuesday 13th February and once they had finished exploring families were invited to join Barbara and Jean Povey in the Fernery for a family craft session to make woodland animals to take home.

The family craft sessions were held on Tuesday 13th and Thursday 15th February from 10am until 3pm and the Fernery was open on Wednesday 14th for families to explore and have a go at making something themselves.
